All travel arrangements, guided tours, and logistics provided by Sacred Journey Travel and Tours E.I.R.L. are subject to the terms detailed below.

Booking Process & Confirmation

  • A reservation is officially confirmed only after our operations team verifies receipt of the required deposit and sends a written booking confirmation voucher via email or WhatsApp.

  • Verbal inquiries, draft itineraries, or quotes do not hold permits, train seats, or guide availability until the initial payment is completed.

Required Traveler Information To issue legally mandated permits, train tickets, and insurance documents, each passenger must provide accurate personal details matching their valid physical travel document:

  • Full name as shown on passport

  • Passport number (or DNI for Peruvian citizens)

  • Nationality, date of birth, and gender

  • Expiration date of passport (must be valid for at least 6 months from travel date)

  • Dietary restrictions, allergies, and relevant medical conditions

Any discrepancy between submitted details and original physical documents presented at checkpoints (such as Machu Picchu entrance gates or train stations) is the sole responsibility of the passenger and may result in denied entry by authorities.

Student Discount Requirements

  • Travelers booking under the University Student category must hold a valid, physical University Student Card (carrying the university name, student photo, and an expiration date valid throughout the travel period). ISIC cards are not accepted by Peruvian regulatory authorities.

  • Failure to present the original card at checkpoints will require the passenger to purchase a new adult entrance ticket, subject to government availability.

Modifications & Rescheduling

  • Standard Day Tours: Rescheduling requests submitted more than 72 hours before service are subject to transport and guide availability, with no penalty. Requests inside 72 hours incur rescheduling fees.

  • Permit-Restricted Routes: Reservations containing government-issued passes (Inca Trail, Machu Picchu entry circuits, Huayna Picchu) or train tickets are strictly non-modifiable and non-transferable under Peruvian administrative law. Changes require purchasing brand-new permits at full cost.

Traveler Responsibilities & Fitness

  • Certain routes and high-altitude treks (e.g., Salkantay, Ausangate, Rainbow Mountain) require adequate physical preparation and prior acclimatization in Cusco (minimum 48 hours recommended).

  • Passengers must follow all safety directions given by certified guides and lead staff throughout the journey. Sacred Journey reserves the right to decline or halt participation for any passenger whose health condition jeopardizes their own safety or the group’s operations.
